Some Dry Kiwi Humour

In researching the theme of nakedness in spirituality, from the Naked Awareness of Dzogchen Buddhism to the traditions of full immersion within Judaism, I have come across a piece of extraordinarily recherche humour, that will be most appreciated I suspect by priests, ex-priests and those very familiar with church services. It’s reminiscent of the Flight of the Conchords. The chap you see (The Naked Liturgist) is genuine – his website is devoted to Christian ecumenicism.

  1. LOL It’s always been my understanding that any announcements that need to be made in the Catholic Church should be done before communion is offered – unless you don’t want anyone to hear them. Of course in Protestant churches announcements can be made at any time and still will not be heard due to the fact that most are there to take roll (see who’s there and who’s not) and to make sure that all are dressed appropriately. This is a running tally kept in the back of the mind and therefore leaves little room for announcements at any time. :o)

  2. Cool. Attached is the Liturgy of the Average kiwi bloke, a recently retrenched Champagne Socialist and ratepaying recalcitrant, trying desperately hard to be funny;
