Ode to Joy

Flash-mob in Belgium of the EU national anthem: Beethoven’s fabulous Ode to Joy, with the rousing chorus line ‘All men (and women – Beethoven was very PC) shall be brothers…’

  1. This, coupled with another clip of Handel’s Messiah in a shopping mall are my two favorite flashmob videos. Thanks for sharing.

  2. Thanks Philip. Seeing this left me with such a feeling of simple joyful human unity.

  3. It’s funny because I started smiling and laughing out loud watching those children with their very own joy! The little girl in red on the pole was a gem! It really comes up and out of the heart doesn’t it? Truely an ” Ode to Joy! Wonderful way to start the day! Thanks for sharing ~

  4. Brilliant …And such a poignant example of the power of music in our lives… today!

Thanks for posting this, Philip; will share…

  5. Absolutely marvelous. In these troubled times, a truly feel good moment.

  6. I showed this to the Small People who live here the other day … my stepdaughter loved the children conducting the orchestra, and as she and her brother were walking away, talking about the video I overheard my stepson saying, “I just really liked the music.” Me, I had a huge grin on my face and tears in my eyes. Such overwhelming joy and beauty.

  7. That has just made my morning. I’m covered in goosepimples now! Thank you.
