Why is this rubbish being posted on this site ?

If you look at the ‘About’ page on this blog you will see why. There I say: “I spend much of my days writing ‘serious’ material that must fit into particular structures: books, articles, and workshop schedules. So to balance this, I am using this blog as a play-space: a place to relax and have fun – to share some of the strange, sometimes sad, sometimes hilarious material that comes my way. And it’s also a place to share ideas…
The main focus of the blog is spirituality in its widest sense, and I believe one of the most important tasks for us today is to infuse our spiritual questing with humour and joy. Without humour we lose our humility, without joy a spiritual path becomes dry with the dead hand of piousness.”
Because something is on this blog it doesn’t mean that I agree with it. Sometimes I put things up because I think they are weird or bonkers. I find this poster weird, but who am I to judge? Perhaps others think it is wonderful.

Nice one, Philip … significant prize, eh? Plus a trip to the states … tempting! Would this be much different from other “Iron Man” style camps, apart from being televised and exploitative that is?

I reckon it could be life-changing and extraordinary Paul, or it could be utterly awful. I suspect the latter – and I hate the idea of guns and shooting animals, so it wouldn’t be for me, although in those TV programmes they love drama with people breaking down and sobbing and getting cross and so on, so perhaps I should go!

I think your misunderstanding is understandable given the fact that the purpose of the blog is only mentioned in a sub-section – the ‘About’ page! I need to put the intention on the front page/banner to make it clear! I plan to redo the site and will try to fix that then! All the best, Philip

I’m afraid that I am too much of a man for them, my daily routine is, get up in the early hours of the morning, and crush a few grapes ( with my bare hands) then I fight an action man. then breakfast of tofu with fruit, and a small cup of lady grey, hairy chest wig, and gold medallion on, then I’m ready for the day, being a real man is a real challenge, constantly fighting the chicks off, being admired day in, and day out, PHEW!!! but it”s all part of who I am, I would not be surprised if you can smell my musk across cyber space, cos that is the guy I am. see ya on the flip side dudes!!

Too right Bonni! Can we suggest a TV programme that suggests a different agenda – learning how to care and cook for instance? I guess that’s why ‘Queer Eye for the Straight Guy’ was so successful!

Okay, I just have to say that, being a long-haired peace-loving 60′s throwback, this is just the sort of cultural stereotype this world needs even less of. Story on NPR yesterday spoke of human evolution using the fox farm Russian experiment, noting that if we manage to survive long enough it is just these ‘types’ that will die out, eventually. (And our ears might start getting floppy…laugh).
