My post below is slightly incorrect, as a reader has just pointed out: “Just seen your note on the census, about ticking the “Pagan” box – only there won’t be a “Pagan” box to tick. There will be an “Other – please write” box, which we are certainly encouraging people to either write “Pagan” or follow the PaganDash style of “Pagan-whateveryourpathis”. We did almost have a “Pagan” box in Scotland, but that got thrown out by the Parliament at the last stage. It was even trialled in Edinburgh and the Western Isles (of all places!).”
So the box will be marked ‘Other’ rather than ‘Pagan’ as I thought. The point about writing Pagan – dash – Druid/Wiccan etc., is that it doesn’t dilute the number so rather than dozens of nature-paths being represented with smaller numbers, the census can come out with one nice big number for these alternative ways.
We were in one of the trial Census areas and having heard about the Pagan Dash campaign so I filled mine out then as Pagan – Druid – It will be interesting to see whether I’m the only one in the area if they ever make public the trial area data

That’s a great idea to put Pagan then the dash. I hope we can start a plan to do the same thing in Oz next time it comes around here. XXX
